Sewing Quilts by Hands, Devoting Love from Hearts
Before June 1, the International Children’s Day, working staff in CCAA presented a special gift to the children in social welfare institutes. Altogether 400 quilts worth about ten thousand yuan were sewn up by the staff members’ own hands and were transported to social welfare institutes in Henan and Guizhou. In order to make an optimal use of the limited fund, CCAA decided to buy semi-manufactured quilts. People felt the pass of love in sewing with their own hands, and it also saved the cost. From May 23 to 25, all the staff members gathered in the conference room, using their break time at noon, to sew the quilts for the children. It was the first time for some of the young members to use a needle and they found it quite a challenge. Some even got pinned by the needle. In spite of this, everyone worked with great enthusiasm and did a very good job.
Some stitches are tidy and orderly, some are a little askew, but every single one of them embodies the love for the orphaned and disabled children and the best wishes to them. We hope these quilts will accompany the children through a cool and comfortable summer and wish a very happy Children’s Day to all of them!
